he Office of the Human Rights Commissioner (Ombudsman) of the Republic of Azerbaijan, in collaboration with the Azerbaijan University of Languages, organized a forum titled “Sovereignty and Constitution: With Youth, Toward Tomorrow.”

In her opening address, OIC Ombudsman Association Board Member and Human Rights Commissioner Sabina Aliyeva highlighted that ensuring human rights and promoting sustainable democratic development are among the state’s key duties. She stressed the active participation of youth in this regard and noted that discussions during the forum would contribute to raising awareness about the Constitution and sovereignty. Commissioner Aliyeva also stated that the Constitution of Azerbaijan, authored by National Leader Heydar Aliyev, forms the foundation of the national legal system and sets the basis for the development of Azerbaijan as a legal state. She emphasized that, as a result of the statehood strategy defined by the Great Leader and successfully continued by President Ilham Aliyev, the territories under occupation for nearly thirty years have been liberated, fully restoring the country’s territorial integrity and sovereignty. The forum featured speeches from various academics and students, discussing topics such as the Constitution of the Republic of Azerbaijan, human rights, the legacy of Heydar Aliyev, and the importance of sovereignty.

This event is part of the “Human Rights Month” initiative, running from May 18 to June 18, and aligns with the declaration of 2025 as the “Year of the Constitution and Sovereignty” in Azerbaijan.
