Mediator of the Kingdom of Morocco

Mr. Hassan Tariq, whom His Majesty King Mohammed VI appointed Monday, mediator of the kingdom, was born on January 1, 1974 in Bhalil. Mr. Tariq, who has occupied since 2019 the post of ambassador of the kingdom of Morocco in the Republic of Tunisia, holds a doctorate in public law from the Faculty of Legal, Economic and Social Sciences of Mohammed V University of Rabat.

He also held the position of coordinator of the network of heads of departments of public law and political science in Morocco. Mr. Tariq was from 1997 to 2002 Tax Inspector at the Ministry of Economy and Finance. Between 2002 and 2007, he held the post of advisor to the office of the Secretary of State to the Ministry of Youth.

During the 2011-2016 legislature, Mr. Tariq was elected deputy and member of the Committee on Justice, Legislation and Human Rights in the House of Representatives. Thanks to his career, Mr. Tariq will strive to deepen the achievements of the institution of the mediator and to modernize his intervention instruments (digital, proximity, etc.) around a more widened concept of “mediation”.

Likewise, it will help strengthen the central role of the mediator’s institution in improving communication and relations between administration and citizens.
