Dr. Asghar Jahangir
President, General Inspection Organization (Iran)
Justice Dr. Asghar Jahangir is a distinguished and highly experienced judicial official of the Islamic Republic of Iran, currently serving as President of the General Inspection Organization of Iran, having been appointed to this position by decree of the Head of the Judiciary.
Over the course of a distinguished career, Justice Dr. Jahangir has accumulated extensive judicial, managerial, academic, and professional experience, and has held a number of senior positions within the Judiciary of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
Justice Dr. Jahangir is a graduate of the Faculty of Law and Political Science of the University of Tehran, where he pursued studies in Criminal Law and Criminology. He subsequently undertook advanced studies in Strategic Management, culminating in a Ph.D. in the field. He holds the academic rank of Assistant Professor and continues to serve as an active member of the academic faculty.
His scholarly engagement extends well beyond the classroom. He has participated in numerous scientific and professional conferences, authored academic works, and served as supervisor, advisor, and examiner for a substantial number of university theses and dissertations at the undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral levels. He has further served as a visiting lecturer at several leading Iranian universities and academic institutions, including the University of Judicial Sciences and Administrative Services, Kharazmi University, Shahid Motahari University, and the Supreme National Defense University.

- Deputy for Social Affairs and Crime Prevention of the Judiciary
- Spokesman of the Judiciary of the Islamic Republic of Iran
- President of the General Inspection Organization of Iran (current position)
Justice Dr. Jahangir’s combination of judicial, managerial, and academic experience, together with his extensive background in oversight, crime prevention, public administration, institutional reform, and judicial policy, provides a strong professional foundation for his leadership of the General Inspection Organization in the fulfilment of its statutory and supervisory mandate.
