The Federal Ombudsperson Secretariat for Protection Against Harassment, a member institution of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation Ombudsman Association, in collaboration with the Pakistan Law Students Association, successfully concluded the National Moot Court Competition on 14 May 2026.
The two-day competition was organized around the theme of Gender-Based Discrimination (GBD) and brought together 44 teams from law institutions across Pakistan, providing a national platform for students to demonstrate advocacy skills, legal analysis, and understanding of gender justice principles.
Following several competitive rounds, four teams advanced to the semi-finals, while the final round concluded with International Islamic University Islamabad securing victory. The runners-up were also recognized for their outstanding performance and legal advocacy.
The winning team was awarded internship opportunities by Abs and Co, while the runners-up received internship placements from Visa Walay Immigration Consultants, further encouraging practical legal engagement and professional development among students.
The final round was adjudicated by a distinguished panel comprising Fauzia Viqar, former Supreme Court Judge Musher Alam, former Justice Sohail Nasir, and Senior Advocate of the Supreme Court Muhammad Shafiq ur Rehman.
The participation of senior legal experts and judicial figures added distinction to the competition and provided inspiration to emerging legal professionals committed to advancing justice and equality.
The event reflected the continued commitment of FOSPAH toward promoting awareness regarding gender equality, workplace dignity, and professional justice while encouraging youth engagement with legal and constitutional values.
The competition also underscored the importance of equipping future legal practitioners with the knowledge and sensitivity required to address issues of discrimination, inclusion, and protection of rights in modern legal systems.
