Ankara, May 2025 — As part of the traditional academic meetings organized by the Chief Ombudsman Institution of Türkiye, Chief Public Auditor Mr. Mehmet Akarca met with Ankara-based consultants, judges, and writers who contribute to the institution’s national refereed journal, Ombudsman Akademik.

The meeting served as a platform for exchanging ideas on the direction and editorial focus of the publication. In his address, Mr. Akarca emphasized that the magazine’s editorial policy is not confined to supporting theoretical research but also prioritizes content that addresses real-world, contemporary social issues. “The publication policy of our magazine is not limited to supporting theoretical work, but also focuses on current and social issues that link directly back to practice,” he stated.

Mr. Akarca highlighted the value of the magazine’s special issues, which delve into critical and sensitive topics from an academic perspective. He reiterated the institution’s commitment to keeping pace with evolving debates in governance, human rights, and public administration, ensuring that Ombudsman Akademik remains a bridge between scholarship and institutional practice.

The session underscored the institution’s ongoing efforts to foster meaningful collaboration between academia and the ombudsman system, contributing to a deeper understanding of public accountability and legal oversight in Türkiye.
